Terms and Conditions
Last updated: March 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using CheckMyReg (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
CheckMyReg provides a vehicle information lookup service using publicly available data from the DVLA and DVSA. The Service offers both free basic checks and paid premium reports.
3. Free Vehicle Checks
Our free vehicle check service provides data sourced from the DVLA Vehicle Enquiry Service and the DVSA MOT History API. This service is provided at no cost and requires no registration. We reserve the right to modify, limit, or discontinue the free service at any time without notice.
4. Premium Reports
Premium reports are one-off purchases providing additional vehicle checks. All prices are displayed in GBP and include any applicable taxes. Payments are processed securely through Stripe. Premium reports are non-refundable once the report data has been delivered, as the service is performed immediately upon purchase.
5. Data Accuracy
While we endeavour to provide accurate and up-to-date information, all vehicle data is sourced from third-party databases and is provided "as is" without any warranty of accuracy, completeness, or reliability. CheckMyReg shall not be held liable for any decisions made based on the information provided through our Service.
We strongly recommend using our Service as one part of a broader due diligence process, particularly when making vehicle purchase decisions.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
- Attempt to access the Service through automated means (bots, scrapers, or similar tools)
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its underlying infrastructure
- Use the data obtained through the Service for unsolicited marketing or spam
- Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit data obtained through the Service without prior written consent
7. Intellectual Property
The Service, its design, functionality, and content (excluding third-party data from the DVLA and DVSA) are the intellectual property of CheckMyReg. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our written consent.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CheckMyReg shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific premium report in question.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
10. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
